Climate change is one of the greatest threats to our public lands -- it reduces snowpack and stream flows, causes habitat loss, and worsens wildfire season. This month, we're hitting the road to call attention to what's at risk.
Climate change is one of the greatest threats to our public lands – it reduces snowpack and stream flows, causes habitat loss, and worsens wildfire season. The EPA’s research and clean air regulatory programs are our greatest line of defense against climate change, but President Trump’s budget threatens to slash these programs in half.
This summer, we’re stopping by trailheads around the state to raise awareness about what’s at risk. We’ll be asking hikers, bikers, climbers, anglers, and all other outdoor lovers to send a postcard to their senator asking them to fund these essential climate change programs.
We’re planning stops at the following trailheads this month:
- July 7 – Logan Pass in Glacier National Park
- July 14 – Hyalite Day Use Area near Bozeman, MT
- July 18 – Pine Creek Lake Trailhead near Livingston, MT
- July 21 – Four Dances Trailhead near Billings, MT
- July 25 – Mammoth Hot Springs Visitor Center in Yellowstone National Park
